Motivation
A few years ago, considering the maintenance and fees, I used Google Sites to build my IPhO institution’s website. Everything looked great — except it couldn’t render LaTeX on the page.
Can you imagine how ridiculous that is? A physics website that can’t explain things in math?
Since then, building a website that is flexible, modern, and supports LaTeX (or KaTeX) has been one of my dreams.
Why now?
This week I watched “Project Hail Mary”. In the movie, Ryland Grace is assigned a mission to figure out how to stop the Astrophage from eating the sun.
When he meets Rocky, they can’t communicate at first — but Grace says:
If we’re gonna save our planets, we have to learn how to communicate. You know they say math is the universal language, I thought we find out if that’s true
This touched me, and pushed me to build one from scratch.
From now on
When I want to share Euler’s identity, I can just write .
When I want to show an alpha idea, I can show
It’s a pretty small step, but it’s an important milestone for me. I’m excited to share more through this website!
